Launched Tuesday with Kina Zore and the Portland Rhumba Project, and continuing every Tuesday in August, the African Music Night spotlights Afropop, Senegalese’ mbalax, djembe drumming and loads more genres. But the Cambridge club and booker Billy Beard do make world-wide sonic exploration a priority - next week alone has the Mmere Dané Group, Lookie Lookie, Club d’Elf and the continuation of Kina Zore’s August residency. Moroccan folk, UK breakbeats, jazz fusion, Middle Eastern melodies and rock ‘n’ roll all have a home at the Lizard (OK, fine, they all have a home in one Lizard residency: Friday’s with Club d’Elf).
